On January 3, 2019, Chief Damian McFadden announced his retirement from the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department, effective immediately. Chief McFadden's assignment at the time of his retirement was Chief of the Administrative Services Division, encompassing the Department's Training Bureau and Sheriff's Information Bureau.
Chief McFadden began his career as a lateral hire in 1998. As a deputy, he worked assignments in custody and worked in patrol at East Los Santos Station. He promoted to Sergeant in 2003 and worked assignments at East Los Santos Station and Sheriff's Information Bureau. He promoted to Lieutenant in 2007 and continued work in the Sheriff's Information Bureau. He was appointed Captain for the Sheriff's Information Bureau in 2010, working in that capacity until promoting to Commander of the Administrative Services Division in 2014. He was most recently promoted to Chief in 2017, remaining in the Administrative Services Division.
Chief McFadden, 48, plans to spend more time with family and explore hobbies in his retirement. An immediate replacement has not been announced.
