Captain Nicholas Armando, a 16-year veteran of the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department, was promoted to the rank of Captain by Sheriff Ezio Poldilotta on August 5, 2018. Captain Armando was assigned to the Santa Clara Valley Sheriff's Station, located north of Los Santos and providing law enforcement services to a geographically-diverse portion of the County of Los Santos.
Captain Armando's career with the Sheriff's Department began in 2002 after 3 years service with the Los Santos Police Department. Captain Armando was assigned to Twin Towers Correctional Facility until 2003, when he transferred to the East Los Santos Station. Captain Armando transferred to the Santa Clara Valley Station in 2005 and promoted to Sergeant in 2009. Captain Armando served with the elite Special Enforcement Bureau as a special weapons operator. Captain Armando served as a Field Sergeant, Traffic Sergeant, and Watch Commander before promoting to Lieutenant in 2015, serving as the Operations Lieutenant at Santa Clara Valley Station. Captain Armando has served as the Acting Captain of Santa Clara Valley Station since June 2016.
Captain Armando graduated from North Crowley High School in Fort Worth, Texas in 1978. Captain Armando holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from and a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Texas A&M University.
Captain Armando, 59, lives in Montgomery with his wife, an elementary school teacher. The duo are expecting a child in November of 2018. In his spare time, Captain Armando enjoys training, personal fitness, and fishing.
